THE WORD OF THE WEEK

TITLE: “Keep the enemy out”                                               6/17/2019

Jude, a bond servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed…”Jude 1-3

We live in a way that we have all the time in the world to get right with God and accept His Salvation. Certainly, those who know Christ and enjoy a relationship with Him know that they have a unique relationship with Jesus Christ. Take a look above at the scripture where Jude states, “we are called” when you are saved by Him. The sanctified know they are called by God to be set apart for God so they may enjoy love with God and do His fore-appointed purpose (Ephesians 1:1-3)

Jude, the author of this letter was the brother of James, the half brother of Jesus (Mark 6:3). Jude did not believe Jesus was the awaited Messiah while Jesus was living but came into a saving relationship after the resurrection. That is hope for some of us today, that it is not too late; Jesus saving power touches still today!

Moreover, Jude writes this epistle in a military tone and genre. Can’t you see with me: Jude announcing that “The Captain of our spiritual army is Jesus and the soldiers He commands are His people who share a common salvation and eternity through faith in him.”  God’s saints are not just set apart, they are also preserved. This means they are carefully watched and guarded. Thirdly, God saints enjoy inner peace because of Jesus work on the cross. The unsaved person is at war with God and cannot please Him (Romans 8:7-8).

Certainly, salvation begins in the heart of God and not in the will of man (Romans 9:16). God chooses us and we don’t get to choose Him or his gift of salvation that He gives freely to all men and women. When you hear Him calling in love, you best be ready and respond to get your marching papers. For their may not be another time.

We at Dr Dowe Clinic plead the blood of Jesus in your spiritual efforts to change the way you live. There is a battle going on (a Satanic campaign). The powers of hell are against the works of God. Keep the enemy out. The gates of hell wont prevail against you! (Matt 16:8).
